John K. Carter Named to Replace John Fendley on November Ballot

John Fendley, the Oldham County Attorney and winner of the 2010 Republican Primary for Oldham County Attorney died in a tragic accident on June 28, 2010.

On July 7, 2010, the Oldham County GOP Executive Committee selected John Carter to replace Mr. Fendley on the November 2010 ballot as the GOP candidate for Oldham County Attorney.

According to data from the  Kentucky State Board of Elections websitethe Oldham County Republican Party enters the 2010 General Election with over 21,400 registered voters, gaining nearly 600 new net registered voters year-to-date.  Democrats totaled 15,228, a net loss of 21 from the beginning of the year.     Oldham County remains the 10th "most Republican county" in Kentucky in terms of registered voters.  Year to date, there are over two Republicans registering to vote for every Democrat.

Moving toward the general election in November, 52.8 percent of voters in Oldham County are registered as Republican, 37.5 percent are registered Democrat, and 9.7 percent are registered as "Other".

Oldham County remains the 10th most Republican County in the Commonwealth according to data from the Kentucky State Board of Elections.  The table below reflects the top 10 Republican Kentucky Counties as of January 20, 2010.

The Oldham County Republican Party maintains its county headquarters in LaGrange, Kentucky. Staffed by volunteers, the purpose of the headquarters is to support Republican candidates running for County, State, and Federal offices in upcoming elections. The headquarters is located behind the LaGrange Post Office off  of Hwy. 53 in LaGrange .  Hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The formal address is:
