Oldham County Republicans Reorganize

In accordance with Republican Party of Kentucky rules, county party reorganizations were conducted on March 15.  The reorganizations occur every four years during a Presidential election cycle.   The Oldham County Mass Convention was conducted  in the Fiscal Court Room in LaGrange.  The purposes of this Convention was to fill vacancies in Precinct Officers from the Precinct Conventions held March 8;  to elect a member of each of the seven Committees of the District Convention, and to elect 47 Delegates and the same number of Alternates to attend the 4th District Convention and the 2008 Kentucky Republican State Convention.  The Convention considered six resolutions to be presented at the District Convention, approving five.

The slate of seven persons recommended by the Nominating Committee and approved by the County Mass Convention on March 15, 2008  for the District Convention positions are as follows:

 Vice Chairman of the District Convention:  Anne F. Gernstein

Assistant Secretary of the District Convention:  Liska A. Coggeshall

Committee on Permanent Organization:  Michael T. Wedding

 Rules Committee:  Barbara W. Winters

Credentials Committee:  Giles C. Lehto

Resolutions Committee:  James D. Sparks

Nominations Committee:  Phillip R. Feigel

Following the Mass Convention,  the newly-elected Precinct Officers of Oldham County met  pursuant to the Rules of the Republican Party of Kentucky.  The meeting was called to order by the Republican County Chairman, Anne F. Gernstein, acting in her capacity as Chairman of the preceding County Committee. The Chairman announced that the purpose of the meeting was to elect Republican County Officers for the coming four years. Then, taking each position in the order prescribed by party rules,  and after nominations and elections for each position, the following new County Officers were duly elected for the coming four years.
