Approximately 100 Republicans attended the 20th
annual Oldham County Lincoln Day Dinner in
Buckner on Sunday, May 18.
Trey Grayson, the Kentucky Secretary of State
and Mike Sodrel, currently running to regain his
9th Congressional District seat in Indiana,
head-lined the guest speakers for the evening.
State Representative David Osborne emceed the
annual event and kept the audience focused on
the importance of Tuesday's primary
election and more importantly, the state and
national general elections in the fall.
State Senator Ernie Harris provided a brief
update on the recently completed legislative
session and presented a Senate Resolution to
South Oldham High School student Natalie Pope,
who spearheaded the approval of an autism
license plate for Kentucky.
Trey Grayson noted the lack of executive
leadership during the legislative session and
emphasized the importance of reelecting Geoff
Davis and Mitch McConnell for Kentucky and John
McCain for America.
Mike Sodrel provided a solid argument for the
Republican Party providing a real alternative to
Democrats campaign promises and focused on tax
policies and issues that result in liberty
and freedom for American citizens.
Oldham County Judge-Executive annual tribute to President Lincoln
provided additional insight into the
extraordinary intellect and vision of the 16th
President during his final weeks in office upon
the conclusion of the War Between the States and
his death.
Notable visitors included Gail Russell,
Kentucky's National committeewoman to the
Republican National Committee and Boone County
Judge-Executive Gary Moore and his wife, Judge
Joy Moore.
